Description

Domaine G. Roumier’s Chambolle-Musigny Les Cras 2009 is a beautiful expression of one of Burgundy’s most admired Premier Cru sites. From the stony Les Cras vineyard, it combines depth, precision, and the refined elegance that has made Roumier a benchmark producer in Chambolle-Musigny.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a bright, polished ruby hue. The nose opens with red cherry, raspberry, and blackberry, lifted by violet, subtle spice, and a distinct chalky minerality that speaks clearly of its terroir. The palate is structured and graceful, with silky yet firm tannins and a lively freshness that keeps the ripe fruit feeling focused and energetic. It finishes long, clean, and mineral-driven, with impressive depth. This is a wine with excellent aging potential and should continue to evolve beautifully over many years in bottle.

Production
Les Cras is a rocky Premier Cru vineyard in Chambolle-Musigny, where limestone-rich soils help shape the wine’s clarity, tension, and mineral precision. Domaine G. Roumier is known for careful vineyard work and sensitive winemaking that highlights site expression. The 2009 vintage brings a ripe, expressive fruit profile while preserving the vineyard’s signature structure and finesse.

Food & Serving
This wine pairs wonderfully with dishes that complement Burgundy’s elegance, such as roast duck, squab, veal, game birds, or wild mushroom dishes. Serve at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 1–2 hours if drinking young, or gently opening it ahead of time to allow the aromatics to unfold.

Producer
Domaine G. Roumier is one of Burgundy’s most respected estates, long associated with exceptional precision and a deep respect for terroir. Based in Chambolle-Musigny, the domaine has built a strong reputation for producing some of the region’s most sought-after wines, especially from its Premier Cru and Grand Cru holdings. Its wines are frequently praised for their balance of power, perfume, and finesse.
