This is a superb wine for refined dishes such as roast duck, pigeon, game birds, venison, truffle risotto, or elegant mushroom-based cuisine. It should be served at around 16–18°C, and decanting is recommended if drinking young, as it will help open the bouquet and soften the structure. For bottles with age, a gentler decant or simply allowing time in the glass can be ideal.
