Production
Les Vasées comes from a Premier Cru vineyard in Mercurey, in Burgundy’s Côte Chalonnaise, where Pinot Noir benefits from a cool continental climate and soils that help preserve freshness and structure. It is the most fruit-driven of the domaine’s Premier Cru wines, and the grapes are vinified to emphasize purity and balance. The wine is then matured for 12 months in oak barrels, including 30% new oak, before a light filtration and bottling.

This Mercurey 1er Cru pairs wonderfully with roast chicken, duck breast, quail, mushroom dishes, and other classic Burgundy fare such as coq au vin or veal. It is best served slightly cool, around 15–17°C, and does not usually require extended decanting, though a short aeration can help open up its aromas if the wine is young.
