Description

Domaine Etienne Sauzet Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru 2015 is an exceptional white Burgundy that captures one of the most coveted expressions of Chardonnay in the world. Sourced from the legendary Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru vineyards, it combines concentration, precision, and unmistakable prestige in a wine that has long stood as a benchmark for refined white wine from Bourgogne.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, the wine shows a deep golden hue, hinting at its richness and depth. The nose is beautifully layered, with intense tropical fruit, citrus peel, and subtle toasted notes unfolding over time. On the palate, it is powerful yet poised, with flavors of pineapple, mango, and lemon framed by a fine mineral streak and vibrant acidity. The wine is remarkably structured and long, with excellent aging potential; in a strong vintage like 2015, it can evolve gracefully for many years, developing greater complexity, nuttiness, and honeyed depth.

Production
This Grand Cru comes from the revered Bâtard-Montrachet terroir in Côte de Beaune, where limestone-rich soils and optimal exposure help produce Chardonnay of exceptional intensity and precision. The grapes are carefully harvested to preserve quality, and vinification is carried out with a focus on balance, texture, and terroir expression, allowing the wine’s natural richness and mineral backbone to shine.

Food & Serving
This wine is best served slightly cool, around 12–14°C, to preserve both its aromatic lift and layered texture. Decanting is recommended if drinking young, as it helps open the wine and soften its powerful structure. Pair it with luxurious dishes such as lobster, scallops, roasted turbot, poultry with cream sauce, or truffled risotto.

Producer
Domaine Etienne Sauzet is one of the great names of Puligny-Montrachet and has earned an outstanding reputation for producing some of Burgundy’s most respected white wines. Founded in the early 20th century and built on a deep commitment to precision viticulture and terroir-driven winemaking, the domaine is widely admired for its elegant, age-worthy Chardonnay and its strong standing among top white wine producers in the region.
