Description

Domaine Dujac Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Malconsorts 2009 is a standout expression from one of Burgundy’s most coveted premier cru sites, positioned just next to the legendary La Tâche. It combines the depth and power of Vosne-Romanée with Dujac’s signature elegance, making it a compelling bottle for collectors and Burgundy lovers alike.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deep ruby hue with impressive clarity. The nose opens with layered aromas of dark cherry, blackberry, violet, and warm oriental spice, supported by subtle oak nuances that add polish rather than weight. The palate is rich and concentrated, yet finely detailed, with silky tannins, ripe fruit, and a vibrant mineral edge that keeps the wine precise and lifted. The 2009 vintage brings a generous, harmonious character, and while it is beautifully approachable now, it should continue to develop gracefully over the coming years.

Production
Les Malconsorts is a prized premier cru site in Vosne-Romanée, where limestone and clay soils provide both structure and finesse. The grapes are hand-harvested and vinified with a high proportion of whole clusters to preserve freshness, aromatic complexity, and texture. The wine is then matured in French oak barrels, with a notable share of new oak carefully balanced to support the wine without overshadowing its terroir.

Food & Serving
This is a superb match for dishes that echo its depth and refinement, such as roast duck, pheasant, mushroom risotto, or beef tenderloin. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decant gently for about 30 to 60 minutes if drinking young, though older bottles may be better opened with minimal aeration.

Producer
Domaine Dujac is one of Burgundy’s most respected estates, founded in 1967 and now widely recognized for its thoughtful, terroir-driven style. Based in Morey-Saint-Denis, the domaine has earned a strong reputation for producing some of the Côte de Nuits’ most expressive and age-worthy wines, with Les Malconsorts standing among its most prestigious holdings.
