Description
Domaine Dujac Échézeaux Grand Cru 2010 is a classic expression of top-tier Burgundy, showing the finesse, depth, and precision that have made Domaine Dujac one of the region’s most admired names. Sourced from the prestigious slopes of Échézeaux, this Pinot Noir combines old-vine concentration with the elegance and aromatic complexity that define great Grand Cru wine.
Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deep ruby-red colour. The nose opens with dark cherries, blackberries, forest floor, and a subtle thread of spice, gradually revealing more complexity with air.
The palate is concentrated yet graceful, with silky tannins, balanced acidity, and a distinct mineral core that carries through to a long, refined finish. The 2010 vintage is now entering maturity, but it still offers vitality, structure, and the kind of balance that suggests further positive development over time.
Production
The wine comes from Échézeaux’s limestone- and clay-rich slopes, where old Pinot Noir vines produce fruit with impressive depth and natural structure. The grapes are harvested by hand and vinified with a high proportion of whole clusters to enhance aromatic complexity and preserve freshness. After fermentation, the wine is matured in French oak barrels, with a moderate share of new oak adding subtle spice and depth without masking the wine’s inherent finesse.
Food & Serving
This wine pairs beautifully with duck, roast poultry, game birds, veal, mushrooms, and dishes with earthy or truffle-driven flavours. Serve at around 16–18°C. Decanting is recommended if drinking now, especially to allow the wine’s aromas and texture to fully open.
Producer
Domaine Dujac is one of Burgundy’s benchmark estates, known for producing expressive, terroir-driven wines with remarkable purity and elegance. Founded in the late 1960s, the domaine quickly earned a strong reputation for its meticulous approach in both vineyard and cellar. Today, it is especially respected for its Grand Cru and Premier Cru wines, which consistently rank among the most sought-after bottlings in the region.
