Description
Domaine Dujac Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru 2010 is a striking expression of one of Gevrey-Chambertin’s most celebrated Grand Cru sites. From old Pinot Noir vines rooted in limestone- and clay-rich soils, it combines depth, finesse, and the hallmark elegance that has made Dujac one of Burgundy’s most respected names.
Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deep ruby colour. The nose opens with dark cherry, blackberry, forest floor, and a graceful touch of spice, all layered with the earthy complexity that defines great Burgundy.
The palate is concentrated yet refined, with silky tannins, balanced acidity, and a distinct mineral line that carries through to a long, polished finish. The 2010 vintage is now beautifully harmonised and mature, though it still has the structure to continue evolving gracefully for several more years.
Production
This Grand Cru comes from Charmes-Chambertin in Gevrey-Chambertin, a site known for producing Pinot Noir of impressive depth and perfume. The grapes are hand-harvested, with a high proportion of whole clusters used during vinification to build complexity and finesse. After fermentation, the wine is aged in French oak barrels, including a moderate share of new oak, which adds subtle spice and structure without masking the purity of the fruit.
Food & Serving
This wine is a natural match for dishes with depth and delicacy, such as roast duck, game birds, mushroom risotto, or braised lamb. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decanting for about 30–60 minutes is recommended, especially if opening now, to allow the wine to fully раскры its aromatic complexity.
Producer
Domaine Dujac is one of Burgundy’s most admired estates, known for its thoughtful approach to Pinot Noir and its strong emphasis on whole-cluster fermentation. Founded in the late 1960s and now firmly established among the region’s elite producers, the domaine has earned a reputation for wines that unite precision, perfume, and age-worthy structure.
