Description
Domaine Dujac Chambolle-Musigny 2008 is a beautifully composed Pinot Noir from one of the Côte de Nuits’ most admired domaines. It captures the graceful, perfumed side of Chambolle-Musigny while adding the precision, energy, and depth that have made Domaine Dujac such a reference point in Burgundy.
Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows the lifted, translucent charm you want from great Chambolle-Musigny, with aromas of red cherry, ripe raspberry, wild strawberry, violet, subtle spice, and a delicate forest-floor character. The bouquet is refined and layered, gradually opening to reveal more nuance with air.
The palate is silky and finely textured, combining vivid freshness with a mineral backbone that brings focus and drive to the fruit. Tannins are elegant and polished, and the finish is long, graceful, and quietly complex. While already expressive, it has the balance and structure to develop beautifully with further cellaring.
Production
Sourced from the Chambolle-Musigny appellation in the Côte de Nuits, where limestone-rich soils and a cool Burgundian climate help produce wines of perfume, finesse, and precision. Domaine Dujac is known for handling Pinot Noir with great sensitivity, allowing the character of site and vintage to shine through. The 2008 vintage, marked by freshness and structure, suits the domaine’s style particularly well, resulting in a wine that feels both classic and vibrant.
Food & Serving
This wine is an excellent match for roast duck, quail, game birds, veal, or mushroom-based dishes, as well as lighter preparations of lamb. Serve at around 16–18°C and, if possible, decant gently for 30–60 minutes to let the aromatics fully unfold.
Producer
Domaine Dujac was founded in Morey-Saint-Denis and has become one of Burgundy’s most respected estates, admired for its expressive, terroir-driven Pinot Noir. Under the Scrive family, and later with strong continuity across generations, the domaine built its reputation on precision, elegance, and wines of impressive aging potential. Today, it remains a benchmark producer in the Côte de Nuits and beyond.
