Built on a traditional blend of 13 grape varieties, with Grenache firmly in the lead, it delivers both old-school authenticity and remarkable value for a wine of this pedigree.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, this is a deeply colored, concentrated red with an inviting sense of richness. The nose opens with blackberry, dark plum, black tea, black pepper, fresh rosemary and thyme, and with time in the glass it gains more savory complexity, bringing notes of leather and sandalwood. The palate is powerful yet refined, showing layers of dark fruit, clove, white pepper and a lifted herbal character that echoes the aromatics. It has the structure and balance to develop beautifully in bottle, drinking well over the next 5 years and capable of holding at a very high level for 20 to 25 years.

Production
Made in the traditional style that has become a hallmark of Domaine du Pegau, the grapes are harvested and fermented as whole clusters in cement vats with no added yeast. The blend includes 13 grape varieties, though Grenache dominates at around 80%, reflecting the classic terroir of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. After fermentation, the wine spends 2 years aging in used oak barrels, preserving purity, texture and the layered, savory profile that defines the cuvée.

Food & Serving
This is an excellent match for slow-roasted lamb, beef stew, game, duck confit, or herb-crusted dishes that echo the wine’s rosemary and thyme notes. Serve at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for at least 1–2 hours to allow the aromas and texture to fully open, especially in its youth.
