Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows the bright, translucent ruby hue that Burgundy lovers expect from a refined Pinot Noir. The nose is vivid and pure, with juicy red berries at the forefront—strawberry, raspberry, and red currant—lifted by a subtle freshness that keeps everything focused and clean. The palate is silky and graceful, combining delicate fruit with a clear mineral edge and a satisfying sense of precision. The clay and limestone soils bring both tension and depth, giving the wine a balance of freshness and quiet intensity. It is approachable now for its charm and finesse, but should also develop nicely over the next few years as the fruit integrates further into the wine’s savory structure.

Production
Les Dames de Vergy comes from a parcel in the Hautes Côtes de Nuits, in the commune of Meuilley, close to Nuits-Saint-Georges. The site’s clay and limestone soils provide the freshness, structure, and aromatic lift that define the wine’s style. Half of the must is aged in small oak barrels and the other half in large old casks, a thoughtful approach that preserves purity while adding subtle texture and complexity.

Food & Serving
This is a very versatile Burgundy for the table. It works beautifully with roast chicken, pork tenderloin, veal, or mushroom-based dishes, and is equally at home with poultry in a creamy sauce or lightly seasoned charcuterie. Serve at around 14°C, and decanting is not essential, though a short aeration can help the wine open up if served young.
