Description
Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Romanée-Conti 2015 is one of Burgundy’s most coveted wines, drawn from the legendary Grand Cru vineyard that has long stood at the summit of Pinot Noir. Often described as the “King of Burgundy,” it combines extraordinary finesse, depth, and rarity in a way few wines in the world can match. The 2015 vintage is especially celebrated for its purity, concentration, and seemingly effortless harmony.
Tasting Notes
In the glass, the wine shows remarkable poise and intensity, with an aromatic profile that unfolds in layers of raspberry, red plum, wild strawberry, rose petal, peony, blood orange, and spice. There is also a subtle mineral thread, adding precision and lift to the perfume.
The palate is silky and medium to full-bodied, with finely woven tannins and pristine red fruit at its core. Despite its depth and persistence, the wine feels almost weightless, combining power and delicacy in perfect balance. This is a wine of exceptional aging potential and will reward long cellaring for decades, evolving slowly toward even greater complexity.
Production
The Romanée-Conti vineyard lies in Vosne-Romanée in Burgundy and is one of the most storied terroirs in the world, cultivated as a Grand Cru site of the highest rank. The vines are farmed organically with biodynamic influences, and the domaine works with extremely low yields, hand harvesting, and rigorous fruit selection to preserve quality at every stage.
Vinification remains traditional and minimally interventionist: the grapes are carefully sorted, fermentation begins naturally without cold soak, and the wine is raised in new French oak barrels for around 16 to 18 months. The result is a wine that expresses its terroir with striking clarity and precision.
Food & Serving
This is a wine best enjoyed with equally refined dishes such as roasted squab, duck breast, veal, lamb saddle, or dishes featuring mushrooms and truffles. Serve at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting gently for about 1 to 2 hours if opening it young, though many collectors will prefer to let it evolve slowly in the glass.

Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, based in Vosne-Romanée, is one of the most revered producers in Burgundy and among the most famous wine estates in the world.
