Description

Domaine Claudie Jobard’s 2023 Beaune 1er Cru Les Epenottes pairs Pinot Noir’s characteristic elegance with extra depth, concentration and structure. From a Premier Cru vineyard near the Pommard boundary, it offers a generous yet refined expression of southern Beaune.

Tasting Notes
Bright ruby in the glass, the wine opens with ripe dark-fruit notes alongside cherry and raspberry. The palate is generous but fresh, with silky, approachable tannins and a lively, lingering finish.

Production
Les Epenottes lies in southern Beaune, close to Pommard and below Beaune Premier Cru Clos des Mouches. Claudie Jobard’s organically farmed vines are around 60 to more than 70 years old and grow in clay-rich soils. The 100% Pinot Noir grapes are hand-harvested and carefully selected, then aged in French oak barrels, 30–50% of which are new. The wine is bottled without fining or filtration.

Food & Serving
Enjoy with poultry, veal or lamb, or serve alongside a substantial meal that can match the wine’s depth. Serve slightly below room temperature, around 16–18°C; a little air in the glass or a short decant can help it open up when young.
