Made from 100% Riesling by a family with winemaking roots dating back to 1795, it reflects both the historic character of the Schoenenbourg vineyard and the meticulous care of one of the region’s most respected producers.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a bright, luminous yellow color. The nose is expressive and refined, with aromas of green fig, lime, botanical herbs, and a subtle flinty edge. On the palate, it is broad, dense, and full-bodied, yet still lifted by vibrant freshness. Flavors of green apple, pear, and crisp citrus unfold with a long, persistent finish, giving the wine both intensity and finesse. It has excellent aging potential and should develop beautifully over time.

Production
This wine comes from the Grand Cru Schoenenbourg vineyard in Alsace, a site known for its complex terroir and its ability to produce structured, mineral-driven Riesling. Domaine Bott-Geyl transitioned its vineyards to organic farming in 2000 and biodynamic cultivation in 2002 to preserve the integrity of the land and express the vineyard as faithfully as possible. The 2021 vintage is crafted from hand-selected 100% Riesling grapes and vinified with a focus on purity, precision, and terroir expression.

Food & Serving
Ideal with fish and shellfish, this Riesling also works beautifully with Asian cuisine and dishes with a bit of spice or intensity. Serve chilled at around 8–10°C to highlight its freshness and aromatic detail. Decanting is not essential, but a short airing can help if enjoyed young.
