Tasting Notes
The wine shows a bright ruby colour with youthful purple highlights. Its bouquet is expressive and refined, revealing red cherry, raspberry and wild strawberry alongside violet, rose petal, subtle spice and a gently earthy, mineral character. On the palate, the 2023 vintage is graceful and energetic, with silky tannins, vibrant acidity and a layered core of red fruit. Notes of cranberry, cherry, fine spice and forest floor develop through a long, savoury finish. It can be enjoyed in its youth for its freshness and perfume, but should gain further complexity over approximately 8–15 years with careful cellaring.

Les Ruchots is a Premier Cru climat on the Côte de Nuits, where limestone-rich soils and a favourable position contribute freshness, structure and mineral definition. Domaine Arlaud farms its vineyards with a strong focus on organic and biodynamic principles, and the grapes are harvested by hand. In the cellar, the fruit is handled gently to preserve the character of the site, with fermentation and maturation designed to support the Pinot Noir’s natural balance rather than mask it with excessive oak.

Food & Serving
Serve at 15–17°C, ideally after a brief period of aeration. A decanting of 30–60 minutes can help the wine open, particularly when enjoyed in its youth, while older bottles are best decanted carefully off any sediment. Its delicate structure pairs beautifully with roast chicken, duck, guinea fowl, veal, mushroom dishes, coq au vin and moderately seasoned soft cheeses.
