Description

Domaine Alain Chabanon Trélans 2015 is a distinctive Languedoc white made from Chenin Blanc and Vermentino, combining depth and concentration with fine, mineral-driven detail. Its name pays tribute to the Chabanon family’s roots in Trélans; it is not a geographical appellation.

Tasting Notes
The nose opens with Galia melon, ripe pear and white flowers, followed by a subtle hint of beeswax. On the palate, it is dense and powerful, with a lively, savoury edge and pronounced stony minerality, balanced by a fine, elegant texture. At its mature 2015 age, it is ready to enjoy; further cellaring may be possible, though no specific ageing window is provided.

Production
The Chenin Blanc and Vermentino grow on biodynamically farmed parcels with very dry, stony soils rich in clay and limestone. Vines, some more than 25 years old, yield an average of just 25 hectolitres per hectare. Fermentation begins spontaneously in stainless steel, followed by 32 months of ageing, including 12 months in large wooden barrels.

Food & Serving
Pair with roast poultry, grilled or baked fish, shellfish, or creamy dishes that can complement the wine’s texture and mineral freshness. Serve lightly chilled, around 10–12°C. A brief time in the glass should allow its aromas to unfold; decanting is optional.
