Description

Dom Pérignon Rosé P2 1996 is a rare expression of one of Champagne’s most celebrated houses, released only after extended cellar ageing to reveal its second plenitude. Built on the power of Pinot Noir and the finesse of Chardonnay, it offers a deeper, more radiant dimension of Dom Pérignon’s signature style.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a luminous rosé hue with remarkable depth and vitality. The nose is striking and complex, unfolding notes of cherry and violet layered with rye, praline, and a subtle smoky accent. On the palate, the wine is perfectly integrated, elegant yet concentrated, with a supple, almost meaty breadth and a beautifully exotic finish. Its structure and energy suggest excellent longevity, with the P2 release designed to evolve gracefully for many years to come.

Production
Dom Pérignon Rosé P2 1996 comes from the Champagne region of France and is crafted from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The P2 concept reflects long, slow maturation in the cellar, with at least 12 years of ageing before release, allowing the wine to gain depth, complexity, and intensity while maintaining the house’s precise, layered style.

Food & Serving
This Champagne is ideal with refined dishes such as langoustine, lobster, duck breast, veal, or dishes featuring cherry and spice accents. Serve chilled, ideally around 8–10°C, and decanting is generally not necessary, though a brief opening in the glass can help the aromatics unfold.

Producer
Champagne Moët & Chandon is one of the most influential houses in Champagne and the producer behind Dom Pérignon, a prestige cuvée named after the historic monk often associated with Champagne’s early development. Dom Pérignon has become a benchmark for luxury sparkling wine, known for its meticulous blending, long ageing, and exceptional releases such as the Plénitude series.
