de Venoge Blanc de Blancs 1996 is a refined vintage Champagne made entirely from Chardonnay, offering the elegance and precision that define the finest Blanc de Blancs. From one of the standout Champagne vintages of the modern era, it combines brightness, depth and remarkable finesse, making it a compelling bottle for collectors and special occasions alike.
Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a pale golden hue with a persistent, delicate mousse. The nose is expressive and layered, with citrus, green apple and toasted brioche notes lifted by a subtle mineral edge.
On the palate, it is full and harmonious, with vibrant acidity balancing its mature richness. Flavours of ripe orchard fruit, nuts and roasted bread unfold into a long, satisfying finish, and its structure suggests it can continue to hold beautifully, though it is already drinking at a very graceful stage.
Production
Made exclusively from 100% Chardonnay sourced in Champagne, this Blanc de Blancs reflects the cool-climate terroir that gives the grape its tension, purity and saline character. The long ageing period on the lees has added complexity and texture, developing the wine’s layered profile and signature toasted notes while preserving freshness and energy.
Food & Serving
This Champagne is a superb match for oysters, scallops, crab, caviar and other elegant seafood dishes, as well as delicate white fish preparations. Serve chilled at around 8–10°C, and decanting is not recommended; instead, open it shortly before serving to let the aromas emerge gently in the glass.

Champagne de Venoge is a historic house in the Champagne region, long respected for producing wines of elegance, precision and classical style.
