Why shop with us?
David Moret Champagne Premier Cru Extra Brut is a refined, terroir-driven Champagne that balances precision, freshness, and elegance. Crafted from Premier Cru vineyards and bottled with an Extra Brut dosage, it offers a distinctly dry style that highlights the purity of the fruit and the character of the Champagne region.
Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a bright, pale gold color with a very fine, persistent mousse. The nose is delicate yet expressive, with notes of citrus zest, green apple, white flowers, and a subtle layer of toasted nuts and chalky minerality.
The palate is crisp and focused, with lively acidity and a clean, dry finish. Flavors of lemon, orchard fruit, and brioche unfold in a linear style, while the Extra Brut dosage keeps the wine sharp and elegant. It is best enjoyed young for its freshness, though the structure and mineral core give it enough depth to evolve gracefully over a few years.
Production
This cuvée is sourced from carefully selected Premier Cru vineyards in Champagne, where cool-climate conditions and chalk-rich soils help preserve acidity and aromatic precision. The blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier, and Pinot Noir brings both finesse and complexity, reflecting a classic but polished regional expression.
Harvesting is carried out with attention to ripeness and balance, and the wine is vinified to preserve freshness and site character. The Extra Brut style emphasizes minimal dosage, allowing the base wine, vineyard selection, and fine lees-derived texture to take center stage.
Food & Serving
Serve chilled at 8–10°C to best appreciate its freshness and fine mousse. It makes an excellent aperitif and pairs beautifully with oysters, sashimi, scallops, light fish dishes, and other delicate seafood.
Decanting is not recommended; instead, open shortly before serving and pour gently to preserve the bubbles and aromatic lift.
Producer
David Moret is a respected name in Burgundy and beyond, known for a meticulous, quality-focused approach and a strong emphasis on terroir expression. His work has earned recognition among wine lovers who seek precise, elegant wines with character and authenticity.
In Champagne, the Premier Cru selection and restrained Extra Brut style reflect a commitment to craftsmanship rather than excess, placing this cuvée among the more serious and distinctive non-vintage Champagnes in its category.
