Description

Made from Timorasso, a historic white grape of the Colli Tortonesi, Daniele Ricci’s Derthona reflects the region’s renewed focus on a variety that had fallen close to obscurity. The name Derthona recalls the ancient name for Tortona, where Timorasso was documented as far back as the 15th century.

Production
The grapes come from terraced vineyards in Costa Vescovato, around 12 kilometres southwest of Tortona. Planted in 1995, the vines grow on soils characterised by marl and clay; the estate’s vineyard parcels are farmed organically. Further details about harvesting and winemaking are not available.
