Tasting Notes
In the glass, this wine typically shows a deep ruby to garnet hue with impressive concentration. The nose opens with ripe dark cherries, blackberries, dried plums, and hints of sweet spice, with subtle notes of cocoa, herbs, and a gentle savory edge. On the palate, it is full-bodied and rounded, with layers of ripe dark fruit, dried fruit character, and soft tannins balanced by fresh acidity. Production
La Groletta comes from vineyards in the Valpolicella area of Veneto, where the combination of hillside sites, good sun exposure, and cooling influences helps preserve freshness in the grapes. The blend is based on Corvina and Rondinella, harvested carefully to ensure optimal ripeness. As with Amarone-style wines, the winemaking emphasizes concentration and richness, creating a wine with depth, structure, and a distinctly regional character.
