Tasting Notes
In the glass, it typically shows a deep, dark ruby color. The nose leans toward blackberries, dark cherries, violets, cracked pepper, smoked meat, and a distinct stony, iron-rich edge that gives the wine its Cornas identity. On the palate, expect a powerful yet focused Syrah with layers of dark fruit, savory spice, and firm tannins wrapped around a concentrated core. The finish is long and mineral, with the structure to age gracefully for several years, developing more earthy, leathery complexity over time.

Production
Cornas is defined by its steep, sun-exposed granite vineyards, which naturally yield small, concentrated grapes with strong aromatic intensity. Harvesting is typically done by hand on these difficult slopes, and the vinification aims to preserve freshness, structure, and the pure character of Syrah while allowing the wine’s natural depth and spice to shine.

Food & Serving
This is an excellent match for grilled lamb, venison, roast duck, beef short ribs, or richly flavored dishes with herbs and pepper. Serve at around 16–18°C and decant for at least 1 hour, especially in its youth, to soften the tannins and open up the aromatics.
