Colterenzio Pinot Nero St. Daniel Riserva is a refined Alto Adige Pinot Noir that combines mountain freshness with the depth and texture of careful aging. Made entirely from Pinot Noir, it reflects the cool-climate elegance and distinctive character that have made this part of northern Italy so admired for fine red wines.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a medium garnet-red colour, signalling both delicacy and concentration. The nose opens with a layered mix of cherry, red berries and subtle spice, giving the wine a classic Pinot Noir profile with an Alpine twist. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and beautifully balanced, with supple fruit, fine structure and an elegant, persistent finish. The wine’s harmony and depth suggest good aging potential, and it should continue to develop additional savoury and spicy nuances over the coming years.

Production
The grapes come from Alto Adige vineyards planted on volcanic soils with morainic deposits, contributing minerality, freshness and precision. After a short cool maceration, fermentation takes place at 25°C over 14 days, followed by 12 months of maturation in large 35 hl wooden casks and barriques, then an additional year of bottle ageing to complete the wine’s refinement.

Food & Serving
This Pinot Noir pairs well with roasted poultry, duck, mushroom dishes, veal and lighter game, as well as earthy vegetarian plates and aged cheeses. Serve it at 14–16°C, and decanting is optional but can be beneficial if you want to open up its aromas in its youth.
