Colombo Alta Langa Rosè Extra Brut 2022

Colombo Alta Langa Rosè Extra Brut is a refined sparkling rosé from Piemonte, made entirely from Pinot Noir and crafted in the traditional method for real depth and finesse. With its long lees ageing and crisp Extra Brut style, it captures both the elegance of Alta Langa and the region’s growing reputation for serious, bottle-fermented sparkling wine.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a delicate rosé hue with a very fine, persistent mousse. The nose is precise and expressive, combining Pinot Noir notes of raspberry, redcurrant, and red spring flowers with a cool mineral edge and a subtle powdery, talc-like impression. The palate is intense yet beautifully balanced, with a creamy, silken texture and vibrant freshness holding the wine together. There is real structure here, along with a savory, lightly spiced character and a long, harmonious finish. Thanks to its depth and extended lees ageing, it should continue to evolve nicely over the next few years.

Production
Produced by Colombo Cascina Pastori in the Alta Langa DOCG of Piedmont, this sparkling rosé comes from 100% Pinot Noir and is made according to the Classic Method. The second fermentation takes place in bottle in the estate’s cool underground cellars over approximately 40–50 days, followed by at least 60 months of ageing on the lees, which brings complexity, texture, and refinement.

Food & Serving
This is a versatile food wine that works especially well with delicate charcuterie, salmon tartare, roast poultry, mushroom dishes, and Mediterranean-style seafood. Serve chilled at around 8–10°C, and decanting is not necessary; a short rest in the glass will be enough to let the wine open up.
