Collection d’Yquem 1x 2009 & 1x 2015 brings together two of Château d’Yquem’s most celebrated modern vintages in a rare collector’s set. As the only wine in Bordeaux’s 1855 Classification to hold the exclusive title of Premier Cru Classé Supérieur, it offers a remarkable snapshot of why Yquem remains the benchmark for great sweet wine.

Tasting Notes
The 2009 is famously opulent, with lavish layers of exotic fruit, honey, apricot and caramel, unfolding with immense depth and concentration. The 2015 leans a little more toward precision and freshness, showing pineapple, citrus, tropical fruit, flowers and a striking mineral edge, all wrapped in the house’s signature richness and balance. Both wines display a luminous golden color and extraordinary complexity, with the botrytized character lending texture, power and clarity. They are built for very long aging, and while already impressive, they have the structure and concentration to evolve beautifully over decades.

Production
Château d’Yquem is located in Sauternes, Bordeaux, where the estate benefits from a unique microclimate that encourages noble rot, or botrytis cinerea, on the Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon grapes. Harvesting is done by successive selective pickings, with only perfectly concentrated berries chosen by hand, and the vinification is carried out with great care to preserve balance, finesse and purity.

Food & Serving
Serve slightly chilled, ideally around 10–12°C, to let the wine’s aromatics and freshness shine. It pairs beautifully with foie gras, blue cheeses, fruit-based desserts, tarte Tatin, or simply as an indulgent wine to enjoy on its own. Decanting is generally not necessary, though a short aeration can be beneficial for younger bottles.
