Col d’Orcia Toscana Nearco 2022 is a polished organic red that brings together Merlot, Syrah, and Petit Verdot in a style that is both generous and refined. Aged for 24 months in French oak, it offers a layered, modern expression of Tuscany with a clear link to the historic soils of Montalcino.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows an intense ruby-red color. The nose is rich and expressive, unfolding blackberry, spice, vanilla, and subtle balsamic nuances. On the palate, Nearco is enveloping and full of character, with ripe fruit, well-integrated oak, and a firm yet balanced tannic structure. Bright acidity keeps the wine energetic through the finish, giving it elegance and length. It is a wine with good cellaring potential, especially for those who enjoy seeing its texture and complexity evolve over time.

Production
The wine is produced in Sant’Angelo in Colle, in the Montalcino area, where the vineyards sit at around 350 meters above sea level. South and southwest exposure, along with medium-textured soils rich in calcareous stones, help shape a precise and expressive profile. Harvesting and vinification are carried out with care: temperature-controlled maceration takes place over 12 to 14 days in stainless steel, followed by malolactic fermentation in concrete and separate aging of the varieties in French oak before the final blend is assembled.

Food & Serving
This is an excellent match for mature cheeses, game, roasted meats, and richly flavored Tuscan dishes. Serve at around 16–18°C for the best expression of aroma and structure. Decanting is recommended, particularly if enjoyed young, to help the wine open fully and soften its tannins.
