Cloudy Bay Pinot Noir 2023 is a polished Marlborough red that captures the region’s cool-climate elegance in a deeply aromatic, finely textured style. Sourced from some of the area’s top vineyards, it offers ripe fruit, spice, and savory complexity in a wine that feels both expressive and refined.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a bright, inviting ruby hue. The nose is smoky and layered, with plum, black cherry, burnt spice, leather, and a subtle lift of dried herbs. On the palate, it opens softly and smoothly before building into darker red fruit, savory herbal notes, and smoky oak. The tannins are chalky and well-integrated, giving the wine shape and a long, intense finish. It should drink beautifully now and has the structure to develop further over the next few years.

Production
This Pinot Noir comes from selected vineyard sites in Marlborough, where cool temperatures, bright sunlight, and free-draining soils help preserve freshness while encouraging ripe, expressive fruit. Grapes are harvested from some of the region’s best parcels and vinified to balance purity of fruit with texture and complexity, with oak use adding gentle smoke and spice rather than dominating the wine.

Food & Serving
Serve slightly below room temperature, ideally around 15-17°C, and consider decanting for 20-30 minutes if you want to open up the smoky, savory aromatics. It pairs well with duck, roast chicken, grilled salmon, lamb, mushroom dishes, and herb-driven cuisine.
