Tasting Notes
In the glass, it typically shows a deep ruby colour with youthful purple highlights. The nose is driven by blackcurrant, plum, and blackberry, layered with cedar, graphite, tobacco leaf, and a subtle touch of spice from oak ageing. On the palate, the wine is medium- to full-bodied, with firm but fine tannins, fresh acidity, and a core of dark fruit balanced by savoury, earthy notes. The finish is elegant and persistent, with the structure to develop further over the next several years, gaining more complexity and softness with time.

Production
Produced in the Haut-Médoc on Bordeaux’s Left Bank, Citran benefits from gravelly soils that help Cabernet Sauvignon ripen with precision while retaining freshness and definition. The grapes are generally harvested at optimal ripeness and vinified separately by parcel to preserve the character of each variety, followed by maturation in oak to add depth, texture, and aromatic complexity.

Food & Serving
This wine pairs beautifully with roast lamb, beef fillet, duck breast, game, and dishes with mushrooms or root vegetables. Serve at 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 1–2 hours if drinking young to help the wine open and soften its tannins.
