Tasting Notes
Deep garnet in the glass, the 2014 vintage shows an expressive bouquet of ripe black cherry, plum, graphite, violets, and subtle spice. With air, notes of cocoa, cedar, and earthy minerality emerge, giving the wine added complexity and elegance. On the palate, it is concentrated and layered, with plush Merlot fruit supported by Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc for structure and lift. Production
Château Troplong Mondot sits on the limestone and clay slopes of Saint-Émilion, where elevated parcels and varied soils give the wine both power and freshness. The estate emphasizes biodiversity and sustainable vineyard work, including horse ploughing in some parcels and careful parcel selection at harvest. In the cellar, an optical sorting system is used to ensure only the best fruit is retained, and part of the harvest undergoes micro-fermentation in 600-litre barrels to increase blending precision. The 2014 vintage reflects a meticulous approach from vineyard to winery, aimed at preserving purity, texture, and terroir expression.

Food & Serving
This is a superb match for roasted lamb, beef fillet, duck breast, game birds, and dishes with truffle or wild mushroom accents. It also pairs well with aged hard cheeses and rich, slow-cooked preparations. Serve at 16–18°C and consider decanting for 1–2 hours if opening young, especially in magnum, to allow the wine to fully open.

Established in 1745 and long associated with Saint-Émilion’s prestigious hillside, Château Troplong Mondot has evolved into one of the region’s most admired estates. A major transformation began under the Valette family, especially Christine Valette and Xavier Pariente, whose vision and investment helped elevate the château to the top tier of Bordeaux. The estate was promoted to Premier Grand Cru Classé B in the 2006 Saint-Émilion classification and confirmed in the 2012 revision.
