In the glass, it shows a deep, dark ruby colour that hints at its concentration. The nose is beautifully layered with blackcurrant, blackberry, and ripe cherry, lifted by notes of cedar, graphite, and a subtle touch of tobacco. The palate is both refined and vibrant, with juicy dark fruit, cool mineral tones, and finely honed tannins that give the wine its impressive backbone. The finish is long and persistent, with enough freshness to keep everything in balance. While already charming in its youth, this is a wine with excellent ageing potential and should continue to gain complexity over the coming years.

Château Talbot comes from the Saint-Julien appellation in Bordeaux, where gravelly soils and a classic Left Bank climate are well suited to Cabernet Sauvignon-driven wines. The 2019 vintage benefits from a warm yet balanced growing season, allowing the grapes to reach full ripeness while preserving freshness and definition. This is a natural match for roast lamb, grilled ribeye, duck breast, and classic Bordeaux-style dishes such as beef tenderloin or herb-crusted game. It also works beautifully with mature hard cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 1–2 hours if drinking young to allow the wine to खुल fully and soften its tannins.
