Château Rocheyron 2020

Château Rocheyron 2020 is a finely tuned Bordeaux from a small 8-hectare estate in Saint-Émilion, crafted by Peter Sisseck and Silvio Denz with a clear focus on finesse rather than sheer power. Built from 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc, it reflects both meticulous parcel-by-parcel winemaking and the ambition to express the elegance and freshness that define the best of Bordeaux.

Tasting Notes
The wine shows impressive aromatic intensity from the outset, gradually opening into a more complex and nuanced profile with time in the glass. Expect ripe cherry, blackcurrant, and wild strawberry, lifted by a delicate perfume of rosehip and floral accents. On the palate it is fresh, elegant, and beautifully balanced, with a supple texture that keeps the fruit vibrant and precise. This is a wine with real refinement and a polished, ageworthy structure. While already highly expressive, it should continue to develop gracefully over the coming years, gaining further complexity and harmony with bottle age.

Production
The estate’s roughly 8 hectares are planted across varied soils, with the vines fermented separately in seven cement vats and three stainless-steel tanks sized to match the diversity of the terroir. The 2020 vintage was aged for 15 months in barrel, including 35% new oak to preserve the purity of the fruit, and was bottled without fining or filtration. Château Rocheyron is also in conversion to organic farming, a process aimed at fully revealing the vineyard’s potential over time.

Food & Serving
Serve with roasted lamb, duck breast, beef tenderloin, or mushroom-based dishes that complement the wine’s elegance and fresh fruit profile. A serving temperature of 16–18°C is ideal, and decanting for 1–2 hours is recommended to soften the wine and bring out its more perfumed nuances.

Founded in 2009 after the purchase of land bordering Château Laroque, the estate has quickly become a serious Saint-Émilion project with a strong emphasis on precision, terroir expression, and restrained elegance. The ambition is not maximum extraction, but a refined Bordeaux style that captures the region’s natural freshness and finesse.
