Description

Château des Tours Vacqueyras 2005 brings the character of the Southern Rhône from a domaine closely associated with the Reynaud family of Château Rayas. Now mature, this vintage offers an opportunity to explore a more evolved expression of Vacqueyras, where ripe fruit and the warmth of the appellation can develop savoury complexity over time.

Tasting Notes
Bottle condition and storage will shape the profile, but a mature Vacqueyras of this style may show a garnet hue and aromas of dried red and dark fruit, herbs, spice and earthy notes. On the palate, expect a fuller-bodied red with softened tannins and a lingering, savoury finish. At around 20 years of age, it is best approached as a mature wine rather than one to cellar for extended development. Open carefully and assess the bottle as it evolves in the glass.

Food & Serving
Serve at approximately 16–18°C with roast lamb, grilled beef, game or slow-cooked dishes seasoned with Mediterranean herbs. Open shortly before serving; a gentle decant can help separate any sediment, but avoid extended aeration until you have tasted the wine.
