Description

Château des Tours Côtes du Rhône 2016 offers a compelling glimpse of the Reynaud family’s distinctive Rhône style: generous, aromatic fruit balanced by remarkably silky tannins. Though labelled Côtes du Rhône, it has the concentration and staying power to reward a few more years in the cellar.

Tasting Notes
The nose is expressive and seductive, led by kirsch liqueur and raspberry compote, with hints of garrigue, lavender and incense. On the palate, concentrated flavours unfold with a supple, silky texture and soft tannins. Despite its relatively modest acidity, this is a surprisingly ageworthy wine. The 2016 vintage should continue to develop over the next few years.

Food & Serving
Serve lightly cool, around 16–18°C, with roast lamb, grilled or braised meats, Provençal herbs, or a rich mushroom dish. Open ahead of serving; a brief decant can help the wine’s fragrant aromas emerge, though extended aeration is not necessary.

Château des Tours is associated with Emmanuel Reynaud, whose family also owns the renowned Château Rayas estate. The two properties have helped shape the Reynaud family’s reputation in the southern Rhône for characterful, expressive wines.
