Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deep, refined colour that still speaks of vitality despite its age. The nose is beautifully layered, opening with mineral-edged black fruit, blueberry, crushed stone and violet, followed by subtle spice and a hint of classic Margaux perfume. On the palate, it is exceptionally balanced, with filigree tannins, vibrant acidity and a seamless core of blackberry, cassis and savoury mineral notes. There is power here, but it is delivered with extraordinary control and finesse. While already highly expressive, this vintage has the structure and freshness to continue evolving beautifully for years to come, especially in magnum.

Production
Château Margaux is situated in the Margaux appellation of Bordeaux’s Left Bank, where gravel-rich soils and excellent drainage help Cabernet Sauvignon thrive. The estate’s vineyards are planted primarily to Cabernet Sauvignon, complemented by Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, with a strong focus on maintaining mature vines for greater depth and character. Harvesting is carried out with precision, and vinification is designed to preserve purity, aromatic detail and the estate’s signature elegance.

Food & Serving
This is a wine best enjoyed with refined dishes such as roast lamb, beef fillet, duck breast, or game with earthy accompaniments like mushrooms or truffle. It also pairs beautifully with aged hard cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decanting is recommended if opening now, though a gentle decant is preferable to preserve its delicate aromatics.
