Château Lynch-Bages Blanc de Lynch-Bages 2021

Blanc de Lynch-Bages 2021 is a refined white Bordeaux from the historic Château Lynch-Bages estate in Saint-Sauveur, just outside Pauillac. Made from a classic blend of Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon, and Moscadelle, it captures the cool, precise character of the vintage while showing the depth and polish that make this cuvée stand out.

Tasting Notes
The wine shows a bright, pale straw color with a lively, elegant sheen in the glass. On the nose, it offers fresh white grapefruit, ripe peach, white flowers, and a subtle maritime note of wet stone and sea breeze. The palate is medium-bodied and beautifully focused, with crisp acidity, clean citrus and stone fruit, and a saline mineral edge that adds length and energy. It is already highly approachable, but it also has the structure and freshness to develop gracefully over time, with an optimal drinking window from around 2024 through 2034.

Production
Blanc de Lynch-Bages comes from the gravelly Garonnaise soils of Saint-Sauveur, where the terroir lends the wine its tension, minerality, and aromatic lift. The 2021 vintage was shaped by cooler weather and lower yields, which intensified the expression of the fruit and reinforced the wine’s vivid, terroir-driven profile. The blend is approximately 79% Sauvignon Blanc, 15% Sémillon, and 6% Moscadelle. After harvest, the wine matured for around six months in oak barrels, half of them new, with lees contact helping to build texture, complexity, and balance while preserving freshness.

Food & Serving
This is an excellent partner for seafood, shellfish, grilled white fish, roast chicken, or dishes with citrus, herbs, and creamy sauces. It is best served well chilled, ideally around 8–10°C, and can be given a short period in the glass to open up; decanting is not necessary, though a brief aeration can help if served young.
