Tasting Notes
In the glass, the wine shows a deep ruby to purple hue, hinting at its concentration and youth. The nose is fresh and composed, with black raspberry, delicate floral notes, chalky mineral accents, and a subtle earthiness that adds dimension. On the palate, it sits in the medium-bodied, silky end of the spectrum, delivering impressive clarity and ultra-fine tannins. The finish is long and graceful, with the mineral core and bright fruit suggesting excellent aging potential over the next two decades.

Production
Château L’If comes from just eight hectares of vines, most of them planted on the upper slopes near Troplong Mondot in Bordeaux’s Saint-Émilion area. The blend is primarily Merlot with a portion of Cabernet Franc, and the wine is matured in 50% new oak, helping to frame the fruit without overshadowing its precision and lift.

Food & Serving
This is a great match for dishes that echo its elegance, such as roast lamb, duck breast, beef tenderloin, or mushroom-based dishes. Serve at around 16–18°C, and consider decanting for 1–2 hours if drinking young to allow the aromatics and tannins to open fully.
