Tasting Notes
In the glass, the 2022 vintage shows deep, intense color and an immediately expressive bouquet of dark berries, violets, spice, and graphite, all lifted by a fresh mineral edge. On the palate, it is concentrated yet silky, with exceptionally refined tannins that seem to melt across the tongue, giving the wine both structure and grace. The finish is long, perfumed, and precise, with a subtle saline note that adds energy and freshness. While already appealing in youth, this is a wine with outstanding aging potential and should gain even more complexity and harmony over the coming years.

Production
Sourced from the gravelly terroirs of Pessac-Léognan, the wine reflects the balance of power and finesse that has made Château Les Carmes Haut-Brion so distinctive. Around 70% of the clusters were fermented whole, adding aromatic lift, complexity, and structure, followed by a long maceration to deepen texture and detail. The wine was then matured for nearly two years in a thoughtful mix of new oak, large foudres, and amphorae, preserving freshness while building depth and dimension.

Food & Serving
This is an excellent match for refined dishes such as roast lamb, duck breast, beef tenderloin, or game with earthy accompaniments like mushrooms and truffle. It also pairs beautifully with aged hard cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decant for at least 1–2 hours if drinking young to help the aromatics fully open.
