Description

Château Léoville Poyferré’s 100 Year Anniversary Limited Edition Mixed Case is a rare collector’s release created for enthusiasts who appreciate Bordeaux at its most distinguished. Bringing together benchmark vintages from this celebrated Saint-Julien estate, it offers a remarkable look at a century of craftsmanship, evolution, and terroir-driven excellence.

Tasting Notes
These mature Bordeaux wines are expected to show deep garnet to brick-tinged hues, depending on the vintage and evolution in bottle. Aromas typically range from blackcurrant, plum, cedar, cigar box, and graphite to more evolved notes of leather, truffle, tobacco, and dried herbs. On the palate, the wines are likely to balance concentration and finesse, with Cabernet Sauvignon providing structure, Merlot adding richness, and Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot contributing aromatic lift and depth. The finest vintages in this case should still offer impressive freshness and length, with excellent aging potential already realized and, in some bottles, further graceful development still possible.

Production
Château Léoville Poyferré is located in Saint-Julien, one of the Médoc’s most respected appellations, where gravelly soils and excellent drainage favor classic Bordeaux varieties. The estate’s old-vine parcels and meticulous vineyard management help preserve balance and concentration, while careful harvesting and parcel-by-parcel selection ensure only the best fruit is used for the grand vin. Vinification is carried out with precision and respect for vintage character, typically involving temperature-controlled fermentation, gentle extraction, and élevage in French oak to build structure, complexity, and polish. This anniversary case highlights several landmark years that reflect the estate’s progression through changing conditions and winemaking refinements.

Food & Serving
These wines are ideal alongside refined dishes such as roast lamb, beef tenderloin, duck breast, game, truffle-infused cuisine, or aged hard cheeses. Serve at 16–18°C, and for older vintages, decant carefully shortly before serving to remove sediment and allow the aromas to open without overexposing the wine.

Producer
Château Léoville Poyferré is a historic Saint-Julien estate with deep roots in Bordeaux’s classified growth hierarchy and a long-standing reputation for producing elegant, structured, and age-worthy wines. Over the decades, the château has earned significant acclaim for combining classical Médoc character with increasing precision and depth, making it one of the most admired names in the appellation.
