Production
Léoville Barton is located in the heart of Saint-Julien, facing the Gironde in Bordeaux’s Médoc region, on gravel soils over clay subsoil that help regulate heat and moisture across vintage variation. The estate’s 50 hectares include a high proportion of old vines, and the blend is traditionally based on Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc, with the exact proportions varying by year. Vinification follows a classic Bordeaux approach designed to preserve structure, purity, and terroir expression.

Food & Serving
This is a natural match for grilled ribeye, roasted lamb, beef tenderloin, duck breast, and slow-cooked game, as well as mature hard cheeses. Serve at around 16-18°C, and consider decanting for 1-2 hours if opening now, especially to allow the magnum to fully show its aromatic complexity and texture.

Château Léoville Barton has been owned by the Irish Barton family since the 1820s, making it one of the oldest continuously family-run estates in Bordeaux and the only Classified Growth property from the 1855 ranking still in the same hands. The château was built in 1758 and today is led by Lilian Barton, the ninth generation of the family. Alongside Château Langoa Barton, it has earned a reputation for producing classically styled Saint-Julien wines with a more powerful, Pauillac-like profile, and the estate remains one of the most respected names in the Left Bank.
