Description

Château Latour 2019 is one of Bordeaux’s most coveted releases, offered here in its original wooden case and already awarded a perfect 100 points by leading critics. A benchmark Pauillac wine, it combines power, precision, and remarkable longevity, making it as compelling for collectors as it is for those seeking one of the great names of the vintage.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, the 2019 Château Latour shows immense depth and intensity, with the kind of dark, concentrated colour you expect from a top-tier Médoc. The nose is richly layered, opening with blackcurrant, cassis, graphite, cedar, tobacco leaf, and subtle floral and mineral nuances, all framed by finely integrated oak. On the palate, it is broad, structured, and seamless, with the hallmark Cabernet Sauvignon grip of Latour delivering both muscle and finesse. There is impressive freshness beneath the density, giving the wine lift and precision through a long, persistent finish. While already impressive, this is a wine built for the long haul and should evolve beautifully over several decades.

Production
Château Latour’s Grand Vin comes exclusively from the estate’s oldest vines in l’Enclos, a historic 47-hectare parcel of exceptional gravel soils overlooking the Gironde estuary in Pauillac, Médoc. The terroir is ideally suited to Cabernet Sauvignon, which reaches superb ripeness and expression here, supported by Cabernet Franc and Merlot. The 2019 growing season brought a cool, wet spring, a warm and balanced summer, and well-timed rain ahead of harvest, resulting in fruit with excellent maturity, concentration, and balance. Since the Pinault family acquired the estate in 1993, substantial investment in both vineyard and cellar has reinforced Latour’s uncompromising approach to quality. The wine is released only when the château deems it ready, meaning it is stored under optimal conditions before release.

Food & Serving
Serve Château Latour 2019 with refined dishes that can match its structure and depth, such as ribeye, lamb saddle, venison, duck breast, truffle-infused dishes, or slow-braised beef. It also pairs beautifully with aged hard cheeses. For best enjoyment, serve at 16–18°C and decant for several hours if opened young, though more mature bottles may require gentler aeration or none at all depending on age and condition.

Producer
Château Latour is one of the most legendary estates in Bordeaux and a name that needs little introduction among collectors. Located in the heart of Pauillac, it has long been considered a reference point for classic Left Bank Cabernet Sauvignon, and its wines are among the most sought-after in the world. Since the Pinault family’s acquisition in 1993, the estate has continued to invest heavily in vineyard management and winemaking, preserving the strict standards that have made Latour a symbol of Bordeaux excellence.
