Château La Fleur-Pétrus 2000 is a beautifully crafted Pomerol from one of Bordeaux’s most respected names, delivering the depth and finesse that make the Right Bank so compelling. Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deep plum-ruby colour with impressive density. The bouquet is generous and layered, with notes of mocha, kirsch, loamy earth, spice box and licorice, unfolding with the complexity you expect from a top Pomerol. On the palate, it is medium- to full-bodied, rich and substantial, yet remarkably elegant and precise. The Merlot-led profile gives it plush dark fruit, supple texture and a long, refined finish. At this stage it is drinking well, and it still has the structure and balance to age gracefully for another 10+ years, likely developing even more tertiary complexity with time.

Production
La Fleur-Pétrus comes from Pomerol, where gravelly and clay-rich soils help Merlot ripen to great depth while preserving freshness and definition. The estate has expanded over time and now covers around 18 hectares, planted predominantly to Merlot with small proportions of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Since the 2013 harvest, vinification has taken place at Château Hosanna, with some ageing still carried out in the historic cellars at La Fleur-Pétrus.

Food & Serving
This is an excellent partner for classic Bordeaux dishes such as roast lamb, beef tenderloin, duck breast or game birds, as well as truffle-based recipes and mushroom risotto. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decanting for one to two hours is recommended if the bottle is opened now, especially to allow the aromatics to fully раскрыться and the texture to soften further.

Château La Fleur-Pétrus is part of the estate portfolio managed by the Moueix family, whose influence in Pomerol and Bordeaux is among the most significant in the region. Jean-Pierre Moueix began expanding into wine production in the 1950s, and over time the family built a remarkable collection of estates, including Pétrus and Trotanoy. La Fleur-Pétrus has become one of the defining names of Pomerol, admired for its consistency, class and sense of place.
