Description
Champagne Pierre Moncuit Brut Rosé is a beautifully balanced Grand Cru rosé, crafted in the heart of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger with the elegance and precision the house is known for. Made from 88% Chardonnay and 12% Pinot Noir using the traditional assemblage method, it combines freshness, depth, and a refined bead that makes it a standout on any premium Champagne list. The wine also carries the quiet prestige of Grand Cru fruit from both Le Mesnil-sur-Oger and Bouzy, two of Champagne’s most respected villages.
Tasting Notes
Pale pink in the glass, this rosé Champagne is immediately inviting and expressive. The nose is intensely aromatic, with bright notes of raspberries and wild strawberries leading the way, framed by a clean, lifted Champagne profile.
On the palate, the red berry character continues with charm and clarity, supported by Grand Cru richness yet marked by a pleasing lightness and excellent balance. The dosage of 8 g/l gives the wine a classic brut finish, while three years of bottle aging adds finesse and cohesion. It is ready to enjoy now, though its structure suggests it will continue to hold its elegance over the near term.
Production
This cuvée is built from 88% Chardonnay from Pierre Moncuit’s own Grand Cru vineyard in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger and 12% Pinot Noir Grand Cru from Bouzy, blended in the traditional assemblage style with red base wine added for color and character. The terroir brings tension and purity from Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, while Bouzy contributes generosity and ripe red fruit. After vinification, the wine matures for three years on the lees in bottle before release, allowing the mousse, fruit, and texture to integrate beautifully.
Food & Serving
Serve chilled at around 8–10°C to bring out its freshness and delicate red fruit expression. It is an excellent aperitif Champagne, but it also pairs especially well with berry desserts, macarons, fruit tarts, and other lightly sweet dishes. Decanting is not recommended; instead, open it shortly before serving to preserve the fine bubbles and freshness.
