Why shop with us?
Champagne Collard-Picard Cuvée Dom Picard Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru is a standout expression of Chardonnay, crafted entirely from Grand Cru parcels and vinified as a true prestige Blanc de Blancs. With its very low Extra-Brut dosage and meticulous élevage, it delivers a Champagne that feels both refined and generous, with the precision and character collectors look for in a serious grower-style cuvée.
Tasting Notes
Bright light gold in the glass, this Champagne opens with a complex, pastry-like nose layered with dried fruit, citrus zest, and subtle toasty oak nuances. On the palate it is intense and ample, yet lifted by abundant freshness and a remarkably energetic, harmonious structure that gives it both drive and finesse.
The Chardonnay purity shows through in its taut mineral backbone and elegant mousse, while the extended time on the lees adds depth, texture, and a creamy dimension to the finish. Thanks to its balance and concentration, it should age gracefully for several years, gaining further complexity and nuance over time.
Production
Made from 100% Chardonnay sourced from Grand Cru vineyards, this cuvée uses only the first pressing, emphasizing purity and finesse. Fermentation takes place in large 72hl French oak barrels, with malolactic fermentation deliberately avoided to preserve freshness and tension, followed by around nine months on fine lees in the same casks and a further four years of bottle aging before release.
Food & Serving
This Blanc de Blancs pairs beautifully with shellfish, oysters, sashimi, grilled scallops, fine white fish, and poultry dishes with delicate cream or citrus sauces. Serve well chilled at around 8-10°C, and consider a short decant only if desired for very early-drinking bottles, though it is usually best enjoyed straight from the bottle to preserve its lively mousse and freshness.
