Description
Champagne Collard-Picard ADN Noir Blanc de Noirs Magnum is a refined and expressive Champagne made entirely from Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, showcasing the depth and character of Blanc de Noirs at a generous magnum format. Sourced from the right bank of the Marne Valley between Épernay and Dormans, it brings together estate-grown fruit, careful blending, and long cellar aging for a wine of impressive harmony and value.
Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a deep golden hue with a poised, elegant mousse. The nose is immediately inviting, with aromas of ripe fruit, cherry, and biscuit, layered with subtle toasted nuances. On the palate, it is fresh and well-balanced, offering vivid red-fruit character, a crisp finish, and pronounced toast notes that add depth and complexity.
The combination of reserve vintages and extended bottle aging gives this Champagne excellent structure and a polished, mature profile. While already very expressive, it should continue to hold well over the coming years, developing even more nuance and complexity with time.
Production
This Blanc de Noirs comes from vineyards on the right bank of the Marne Valley, where Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier benefit from a terroir suited to producing ripe, generous fruit with natural freshness. The blend combines 60% from the 2013, 2014, and 2015 vintages with 40% from 2016, using only the first press juice to ensure top quality.
Vinification takes place with native yeasts in large 72hl oak casks, without malolactic fermentation and with minimal filtration to preserve purity and texture. The wine spends around 12 months on fine lees in the same oak vessels before ageing a further seven years in bottle in the cellar prior to release.
Food & Serving
This Champagne is a versatile partner for refined dishes such as roast chicken, veal, mushroom risotto, seafood with richer sauces, or charcuterie. It also works beautifully with aged hard cheeses and gourmet appetizers. Serve chilled at around 8–10°C; decanting is not typically necessary, though a brief moment in the glass will help open its aromas.
