Originally a favorite of founder Charlie Wagner, this wine also nods to the winery’s heritage by returning to the original blend style first released in 1974, drawing fruit from Napa Valley, Lake County, Suisun Valley, Lodi, and Monterey County.

Tasting Notes
Deep and inviting in the glass, this Zinfandel opens with an opaque ruby core and flashes of purple at the rim. The aromatics are intensely expressive, showing dark plums, mulberries, violets, licorice, and well-integrated oak. On the palate, it is full-bodied and powerful yet impressively clean, delivering ripe strawberry, raspberry tart, mocha, and a subtle mineral edge reminiscent of wet granite. The structure is plush and mouth-filling, with enough freshness to keep the wine lively. While already delicious now, it has the concentration to hold up well over the next several years.
