Description

Cavallotto’s Barolo Riserva Bricco Boschis San Giuseppe DBMG 2015 is a distinguished expression of Nebbiolo from one of Barolo’s most respected names. Sourced from a tiny parcel in Castiglione Falletto, it combines remarkable intensity with the finesse and balance that have made classic Barolo one of Italy’s most celebrated wines.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows the deep, youthful ruby-garnet hue typical of serious Barolo, with impressive clarity and depth. The bouquet is classically layered, offering dried herbs, strawberries, wood spice, and earthy nuances that unfold beautifully with air. On the palate, the wine is powerful yet refined, with pure fruit, firm structure, and a clean, elegant finish. The spice-driven complexity adds dimension without overwhelming the fruit, and the long aging potential promises even greater harmony over time.

Production
This wine comes from a very small Nebbiolo parcel in Castiglione Falletto, where the combination of limestone-rich soils and favorable exposure helps shape a Barolo with depth, precision, and aromatic detail. The grapes are harvested carefully, and the wine undergoes extended skin contact to maximize color, tannin, and concentration before being matured for 4 to 5 years in large oak casks.

Food & Serving
An excellent match for rich meat dishes such as braised beef, game, truffle-based preparations, and slow-cooked lamb, as well as mature cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C, and decanting for at least 1–2 hours is recommended to allow the wine’s structure and aromatics to fully open.

Producer
Cavallotto is a historic Barolo producer with a long-standing reputation for traditional winemaking and outstanding vineyard holdings in the Bricco Boschis cru. The estate is highly regarded for producing age-worthy wines of depth, balance, and authenticity, and its top releases are regularly praised as some of the most characterful Barolos in Piemonte.
