Grown on the historic Castelgiocondo estate in Montalcino, it combines plush fruit, refined structure, and a sense of place shaped by centuries of winemaking tradition.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, Lamaione shows a deep ruby-red color with vivid purple reflections. The nose is intense and layered, with ripe red and black berries leading the way, followed by subtle notes of vanilla, cocoa, dark chocolate, and tobacco. On the palate, it is full-bodied, smooth, and rounded, with dense yet silky tannins balanced by bright freshness. The finish is long and persistent, leaving behind spicy nuances and a sense of depth that suggests excellent aging potential.

Production
Lamaione comes from the Tenuta Castelgiocondo vineyards in Montalcino, where the vines are rooted in marine clay soils at around 300 meters above sea level. The southwest-facing exposure helps the Merlot reach full, harmonious ripeness while preserving balance and structure. Harvesting is carried out by hand, followed by careful grape selection in the cellar. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to protect the purity of the fruit, after which the wine spends an extended period aging in French oak barrels before further bottle maturation.

Food & Serving
This is a wine that pairs beautifully with roasted red meats, game, braised dishes, and richly flavored pasta dishes. It also works very well with mature cheeses and dishes featuring mushrooms, truffle, or dark sauces. Serve at 16–18°C; decanting for about an hour is recommended to fully open up its aromatics and texture.
