Casanova di Neri’s Brunello di Montalcino Giovanni Neri is a refined expression of Sangiovese from one of Tuscany’s most respected producers. Crafted in the heart of Montalcino, it combines elegance, depth, and the unmistakable character of a wine made with patience and precision.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, it shows a bright, radiant red colour that immediately signals freshness and vitality. The nose opens with a vivid mix of young red fruits—blueberries, cherries, and plums—before developing subtle hints of blood orange as it breathes. On the palate, the tannins are exceptionally fine and creamy, giving the wine impressive texture and fullness, while the finish is deep, persistent, and beautifully balanced. This is a Brunello with excellent ageing potential, built to evolve gracefully over many years. With time in bottle, its fruit will gain complexity and the savory, tertiary notes typical of great Montalcino wines will become more pronounced.

Production
The Sangiovese grapes are hand-harvested in September from vineyards in the Brunello di Montalcino DOCG, where the terroir of southern Tuscany provides ideal conditions for structure, freshness, and aromatic precision. After harvest, the wine undergoes 29 days of maceration in truncated cone-shaped wooden vats, with 20% whole clusters included to enhance complexity and finesse. It is then aged for 30 months in oak barrels, followed by 18 months in bottle before release.

Food & Serving
This is an excellent partner for richly flavoured dishes such as roasted or braised red meat, game, and mature cheeses. Serve at around 16–18°C to bring out its aromatic detail and layered structure, and consider decanting for at least an hour if drinking young to allow the wine to fully open.
