Why shop with us?
Casanova di Neri is one of Montalcino’s most admired estates, renowned for its uncompromising pursuit of quality and precision. This 2015 Brunello di Montalcino captures the character of an exceptional Tuscan vintage, combining ripe fruit, structure, and finesse in a wine that speaks clearly of both producer and place.
Tasting Notes
Deep ruby in the glass, this Brunello shows a classic and inviting profile. The nose unfolds with cherry, wild berries, and dried flowers, layered with notes of tobacco, leather, and a subtle balsamic nuance.
On the palate it is concentrated yet beautifully balanced, with a vivid fruit core, firm tannins, and a long, mineral-driven finish. Already approachable, it has the depth and structure to evolve gracefully over the next 20 years, gaining further complexity with time.
Production
The 100% Sangiovese Grosso grapes are hand-harvested from carefully selected parcels around Montalcino, where altitude and terroir help preserve freshness, aromatic lift, and natural acidity. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, followed by approximately 43 months of aging in large Slavonian oak casks, a method that preserves the purity of the fruit while allowing the tannins to soften and integrate.
Food & Serving
Ideal with rich Tuscan dishes such as grilled bistecca, braised game, pappardelle with wild boar, or aged cheeses. Serve at 16–18°C. Decanting for 1–2 hours is recommended, especially if enjoyed in its youth, to allow the aromas and structure to fully open.
Producer
Casanova di Neri was founded in the late 1960s and has become a benchmark name in Brunello di Montalcino, helping define the modern style of the appellation while maintaining a strong respect for tradition. The estate is widely respected for its site selection, meticulous vineyard work, and consistently outstanding wines, earning a reputation as one of the region’s leading producers.
