Tasting Notes
In the glass, it typically shows a deep ruby colour with youthful violet reflections. The nose is layered with ripe red cherry, black cherry, plum, dried herbs, and a touch of sweet spice, often followed by hints of cocoa and subtle oak. On the palate, it is medium- to full-bodied, smooth, and warmly textured, with ripe fruit, supple tannins, and a balanced freshness that keeps the wine lively. The Ripasso technique adds extra concentration and complexity, giving the wine a rounder, more layered finish. This is a wine that can be enjoyed now, but it should also hold well over the next few years.

Production
Sourced from vineyards in Veneto, the wine reflects the region’s warm days, cool nights, and well-suited soils for producing expressive, balanced reds. The Ripasso style is made by refermenting Valpolicella wine on the skins left from Amarone production, a traditional method that adds body, richness, and aromatic depth. The result is a Superiore expression with greater complexity and structure than a standard Valpolicella.

This wine pairs beautifully with roasted meats, grilled sausages, mushroom risotto, aged hard cheeses, and hearty pasta dishes with ragù. Serve at around 16–18°C, and consider a short decant of 20–30 minutes if you want to soften the wine and open up its aromatics.
