Carpineto Chianti Classico Riserva 2020 comes from the historic heart of Chianti Classico, the oldest and most traditional production zone in the region. Crafted from Sangiovese with a touch of Canaiolo Nero, it reflects the elegance, structure, and unmistakable character that have made this part of Tuscany famous for generations.

Tasting Notes
In the glass, this Riserva typically shows a deep ruby colour with garnet reflections, hinting at its reserve style and ageing potential. The nose is expressive and inviting, with aromas of ripe red cherry, wild berries, violet, dried herbs, and subtle notes of spice and leather. On the palate, it is refined and well-balanced, with lively acidity, firm but polished tannins, and a savoury core of red fruit, earth, and gentle oak-derived complexity. The finish is long and harmonious, with the structure to develop further over the next several years.

Production
The wine originates in the classic Chianti Classico zone between Florence and Siena, where rolling hills, cypress-lined roads, olive groves, and historic hilltop villages create a distinctive Tuscan landscape. The vineyards benefit from a combination of altitude, sun exposure, and well-drained soils that help Sangiovese retain freshness while developing depth and aromatic precision. The grapes are carefully harvested and vinified with the aim of preserving varietal purity, structure, and the layered character expected from a Riserva.

Food & Serving
This is an excellent match for Tuscan and Mediterranean dishes such as roast lamb, grilled steak, wild boar, mushroom risotto, aged pecorino, and pasta with rich tomato-based sauces. Serve at 16-18°C, and consider decanting for 30-60 minutes to allow the aromas and tannins to open beautifully.
